LAEDC report identifies biotech industry as strong economic potential for Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Economic Development corporation published its 2017 People, Industries and Jobs Report, which provides in-depth analysis of key industries and occupations for the L.A. region, and emphasizes biotech related professions:

‘The following industries are identified as targets for specific economic and workforce development interventions (in order of relevant NAICS):
-Construction industries
-Selected manufacturing (fashion, aerospace, analytical instruments, pharmaceuticals, medical devices)
-Trade and logistics
-Entertainment and infotech
-Health services
-Leisure and hospitality

These industries are discussed individually below, including employment projections at the industry level and the types of occupations that they are most likely to employ.’
